Parents

The Children's School believes a strong relationship between families and the school is important to each student's success at school. We offer numerous ways in which parents can be involved with their child's educational experience.

SUPPORTIVE FACULTY
Our staff and administrative team are here for you. All faculty members have voice mail and school email accounts; parents are encouraged to bring questions, suggestions or concerns to the attention of specific teachers or faculty members by leaving a message. It may not possible for teachers to discuss concerns at length while school is in session and making an appointment to arrange a formal meeting is advised. In addition, parents may always stop by the administrative office to discuss concerns, to ask questions or to give feedback.

PARENT EDUCATION
TCS prides itself on being a community of learners, from its students, to its faculty, and its parents. We recognize the desire of many parents to learn more about TCS's programs and philosophy, as well about child development and relevant educational issues. Our parent education program includes a guest speaker series and a monthly parent education forum, Coffee and Cookies with Molly. In addition, the toddler program includes a formal parent education component. For more information on the toddler program, please see our early childhood programs .

PARENTS AS VOLUNTEERS
Parents play a central role in school life through their volunteer and philanthropic efforts. When parents join the TCS community, they automatically become members of the Parent Association. All parents are encouraged to attend PA meetings to learn more about upcoming events and ways to get involved with the school.

In addition, parents can also:

• volunteer in the classroom
• serve as class representatives for the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign fund raisers
• organize and plan school events such as Fall Festival and Fun Night
• provide transportation to and from class field trips
• serve on the Parent Association board or the TCS Board of Trustees
• contribute to fundraising campaigns and events
