EXTENDED CARE

School doesn't have to end at 3:15pm at The Children's School. TCS offers a variety of fun and educational after school enrichment classes and Kids' Club, our extended care program, for students from preschool to 8th grade.

Fall 2010 Enrichment (September 27-December 16)

 Enrichment Class Overview:

• The Children's School believes that learning is doing. Our enrichment classes play a vital role in encouraging children to become active members of a community of lifelong learners.
• The Children’s School offers a wide variety of high quality after-school enrichment classes. Classes are offered in fall, winter, and spring.
• Enrichment classes for kindergarten through 8th grade students and all dance academy dance classes are open to the general public. Children in these grades may invite friends from outside TCS to take a class with them!
• Classes for preschool and prekindergarten are open to TCS students only.
• Enrollment is limited in all classes and therefore early registration is strongly encouraged. The Children’s School reserves the right to cancel classes due to insufficient enrollment at our discretion. If TCS cancels a class, families will receive a full refund. There is a $10 processing fee for any schedule changes after the registration form is submitted and a $20 fee for all returned checks. Class fees are non-refundable.
• Beginning dates and scheduled class dates may vary for some of our classes due to TCS events.
• Registration is not complete until payment is received in full.

Kids' Club Extended Care

• Come visit our new Kids' Club facility in the Elderberry Building located on the east side of campus!
• Kids' Club is TCS's extended childcare program. Open to current TCS students in preschool or above, Kids' Club is available both before and after school.  Morning hours are from 7am to 8am For Prek- 8th grade and from 7am to 8:30am for preschool students.  Afternoon hours are from 3:15pm to 6:00pm. The program is staffed by trained university and graduate students and includes outdoor playtime, arts & crafts, a snack and time for homework.

Kids' Club Payment Options:

• Daily or occasional use: the hourly fee for Kids' Club is $7.75, billed in 15-minute increments. At the end of each month, you will receive a statement showing your Kids' Club charges.
• Unlimited use: Unlimited use of Kids' Club is available for $2,550, payable in three payments of $850: one payment each on September 1, 2010, January 1, 2011 and March 1, 2011. This plan covers all school days, but does not cover conference days, early dismissal days, or special days.
• Special days: These days are half days, staff development days and any other non-school day when extended care is offered. On half-days Kids' Club is open from noon - 6 p.m. On full non-school days when Kids' Club is offered, the hours are 7am - 6pm. Please check the TCS calendar. You must reserve a place for your child in advance on special days. There is a $50 additional fee if reservations are not made in advance and your child just drops in. On special days please provide your child with a lunch and plenty of snacks. Kids' Club will provide small snacks in the afternoon.
• Teacher conference days: There is no charge for extended care during the scheduled parent teacher conference ( 1/2 hour conference). To ensure proper staffing, you will need to sign up for the half hour as well as any additional time at activities@tcslj.org.
