Welcome to The Children’s School Library!
Pat and I are thrilled to be a part of this wonderful school, and to share our love of literature and learning. We are both in our second year with TCS and are thrilled that the library will be open full-time this year for all of our children. We have spent the summer working hard to make our space beautiful, inviting and efficient. We have purchased many new books in all areas of the collection and hope everyone in our community stops by to check us out!
The new website and automation software that was purchased last year has allowed us to create a much more user-friendly web page. Parents and faculty members can access our school catalog using the link at the bottom of this page. Soon, parents will be able to check to see what books are checked out to you and/or your child!
Research points out two very important facts for our library: Children who read large amounts regularly are more successful in school and life pursuits, and schools with a professionally staffed library achieve higher scores and student achievement rates.
Students love checking out books from the library. We ask that you set aside a special space in your home
for library books. This will help you and your children keep track of the books until it is time to return them. The maximum checkout limit is four books, which is mostly for older children. Books are due one week from checkout date and we provide a one week grace period before sending an overdue notice. While it is very important to us that your child develops responsible habits in returning library books, please don't worry too much if a book goes missing for a week or two. The books almost always turn up!
